This is a remote-first, hands-on role where you will take full ownership of our infrastructure, driving the evolution of our cloud-native platforms and ensuring our engineering processes are resilient, scalable, and secure. Key ResponsibilitiesAs the lead for our DevOps function, you will focus on system reliability and the acceleration of software delivery. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Implementing, optimizing, and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines to ensure seamless and automated software delivery across all development and production environments.
- Architecting and managing our core AWS server infrastructure, with a specialized focus on Kubernetes cluster management and container orchestration.
- Actively monitoring and managing all cloud-native instances and services to guarantee peak platform performance, security, and high availability.
- Establishing and maintaining a comprehensive observability framework, including monitoring, metrics, and logging solutions such as Grafana for all active WDL projects.
- Proactively identifying and implementing automation opportunities within the development and release lifecycle to reduce manual overhead and improve deployment frequency.
- Collaborating closely with software engineers to embed DevOps best practices into the full development lifecycle, ensuring architectural consistency and security.
- Partnering with Data Engineers and Data Scientists to verify and release critical data updates, ensuring the integrity and freshness of our core Data Products.
- Contributing to high-level project planning and technical decision-making to ensure infrastructure capabilities are aligned with long-term business goals.
We are seeking a technical professional who balances deep infrastructure expertise with a collaborative, hands-on mindset. The ideal candidate will possess:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a dedicated DevOps, Site Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering role.
- Advanced hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and modern CI/CD orchestration tools, specifically GitHub Actions.
- Deep proficiency in container orchestration using Kubernetes and experience managing relational and specialized databases such as PostgreSQL and ClickHouse.
- A strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles, with exposure to tools like Terraform or Terragrunt considered a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with back-end languages, particularly Java (Spring) or Python, to facilitate better integration and support for our development teams.
- Proven experience in setting up and maintaining observability stacks, including Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar monitoring and logging frameworks.
- A solid understanding of agile development methodologies and a commitment to maintaining high-quality technical documentation.
- Exposure to or familiarity with modern stack components including Redis, Amazon SQS, AWS Cognito, and Cloudflare.
- The ability to lead complex technical projects and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams involving data scientists, product owners, and designers.
