The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas, invites dedicated professionals to join our world-class team as a Water Safety Specialist. In this vital role, you will be the guardian of our pristine five-mile stretch of white-sand beach and luxury aquatic facilities. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Water Safety Specialist, you will maintain a vigilant presence across our waterfront and pool areas, executing high-level safety protocols and emergency response maneuvers. Your primary duties include:
- Monitor guest activity within assigned zones to provide a safe environment, with a specific focus on the resort’s waterfront and beach areas.
- Respond immediately to aquatic emergencies using trained rescue techniques, including the operation of watercraft and rescue boards to assist individuals in distress.
- Administer First Aid and CPR during emergency situations, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor under pressure.
- Manage the manual and electronic operation of motorized ride lifts and dispatch stations, ensuring strict adherence to emergency action plans and safety protocols.
- Supervise ride activity via live video monitors to proactively identify potential hazards and execute evacuations if necessary.
- Enforce all Water Park and beach regulations while maintaining the resort’s signature high standards of hospitality and guest interaction.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform pool chemical readings throughout the day to verify safe operating levels.
- Lead morning physical conditioning sessions and participate in ongoing in-service training and IAM (Elite) standard audits to maintain peak performance levels.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all work locations, including the retrieval of lost articles and preparation for special events or inclement weather.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a blend of physical agility, technical expertise, and a passion for luxury service. Requirements include:
- Proven experience in lifeguarding, water safety, or emergency response, preferably within a luxury resort environment.
- Current certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR (IAM/Elite standards preferred).
- Strong swimming proficiency and the ability to operate rescue watercraft and mechanical ride control switchboards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse, high-profile clientele with professionalism and grace.
- A high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, aligning with Four Seasons global brand standards.
- A collaborative mindset, dedicated to fostering a working environment free of discord and focused on open communication.
- The legal ability to work in The Bahamas without requiring sponsorship.
