As the VP of Product and Partnerships at uConnect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of career services for millions of students. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the primary architect of our product roadmap, transforming uConnects high-level mission into a tangible, high-impact reality. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned product leader to sit at the intersection of commercial strategy, technological innovation, and strategic ecosystem partnerships, ensuring uConnect remains the essential infrastructure for higher education institutions like UCLA, MIT, and beyond. You will be tasked with bridging the gap between strategic vision and technical execution, leading a team that values people-first culture and collaborative excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for defining and driving a clear, prioritized product roadmap that aligns with uConnects long-term vision. You will partner closely with the CEO to translate executive goals into sequenced milestones and success metrics, while managing the full product lifecycle from discovery through delivery. You will own the development and grooming of specific product requirements and ensure that all internal stakeholdersfrom Engineering to Customer Successare aligned with the product direction. You will also take a lead role in market intelligence, conducting focus groups and user interviews to ensure our solutions address the evolving needs of the workforce development ecosystem.
Strategic partnerships are a cornerstone of this role. You will lead the identification, evaluation, and management of content providers and technology partners, ensuring that our Virtual Career Center offers a seamless and integrated experience. Beyond external relationships, you will also lead our product monetization efforts, experimenting with pricing models, feature tiering, and usage-based strategies to expand our commercial footprint while delivering exceptional value to our institutional clients. You will serve as a strong internal communicator, supporting marketing and sales with messaging that highlights our unique value proposition.
- Lead customer discovery through focus groups, user interviews, and structured beta programs to ensure product-market fit.
- Direct the product vision for AI-powered features and leverage AI tools internally to optimize product and design operations.
- Evolve uConnects data architecture to provide robust engagement analytics, outcomes data, and institutional reporting.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure technical feasibility, clear sequencing, and high-quality delivery.
- Serve as a product champion and external thought leader within the EdTech and career services community.
- Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing product team that champions documentation standards and cross-functional excellence.
We are looking for an executive leader with at least 7 years of product management experience, specifically including 3 or more years in a senior leadership capacity within a SaaS organization. The ideal candidate possesses a rare blend of technical depth, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, remote environment. You must have a proven ability to translate executive vision into structured roadmaps that deliver measurable results.
- Proven track record of taking products from discovery to full-scale adoption within a startup or scale-up setting.
- Strong technical background with the ability to engage in deep discussions with engineering teams regarding data architecture and system scope.
- Demonstrated experience in product monetization, including pricing strategy and feature packaging.
- Experience managing complex partnership ecosystems and technology integrations, including contract negotiation.
- Background in Higher Education, EdTech, or Workforce Development is strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, capable of representing uConnect to board members and university partners.
- Familiarity with modern product management stacks, including Jira, Productboard, Figma, and Notion.
