About the Role
Our Hillside is a premier creative production and post-production studio entering an exciting phase of international growth as we establish our first dedicated base in London. We are seeking a versatile and highly skilled mid-level Video Editor to become a foundational member of our UK team, bridging the gap between high-end commercial storytelling and the fast-paced demands of premium corporate digital content. This is a unique opportunity to work on a diverse slate of projectsranging from executive thought leadership and documentary-style pieces to global TV campaignswhile collaborating directly with our established production hub in New York City. As our London anchor, you will play a critical role in maintaining the high craft and discipline our global clients in the tech, sport, fashion, and media sectors have come to expect.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality edits across a wide variety of formats, including commercials, brand films, and sophisticated corporate narratives. You will handle the entire lifecycle of the edit, from initial assembly to final delivery, ensuring that every piece of content aligns with the overarching creative vision and brand voice. You will be expected to master multicam projects, specifically focusing on executive interviews and live-event style content where precision and pacing are paramount. Beyond the primary cut, you will manage versioning and platform-specific cutdowns to ensure our content resonates across all digital and broadcast channels.
Collaboration is at the heart of our studio. You will work closely with directors, producers, and motion graphics artists to refine stories and integrate finishing touches. Operating within our custom remote and proxy workflows, you will utilize high-speed remote access software to maintain a fast and reliable delivery schedule. This position requires the ability to balance the technical rigor of corporate delivery with the artistic flair of commercial spots, moving fluidly between different styles of editing without compromising on quality or turnaround time.
QualificationsThe ideal candidate possesses at least two years of professional editing experience within a studio, agency, or high-volume production environment. We are looking for a specialist who is fast, fluent, and expert-level in Adobe Premiere Pro, as this is the backbone of our post-production department. You must have a proven track record of multicam editing and a reel that demonstrates a wide range of work, from narrative storytelling to polished corporate communications. Proficiency in Adobe After Effects is essential, as you will be expected to handle motion graphics and light finishing to elevate your edits. Because we operate exclusively on Mac hardware, complete fluency in the Mac ecosystem and the wider Adobe Creative Cloud is mandatory.
Technically, you should be comfortable working in a fully remote capacity via Parsec or equivalent remote-access software, maintaining a stable and professional home setup. We value editors who remain calm under tight deadlines, possess a genuine curiosity for storytelling, and have a meticulous eye for detail that goes far beyond a simple clean assembly. Candidates with experience in sound design, audio mixing, and documentary-style editing will be highly regarded. Please note that this role requires working regular UK business hours to ensure synchronization with our producers and clients.
