About the Role
Ramp Talent has been retained to conduct a confidential search for an experienced Vice President of Supply Chain to lead the operational backbone of a premier logistics and distribution platform. Our client operates a sophisticated third-party logistics (3PL) model, combining point-to-point pick-and-pack services with complex wholesale buy-sell operations. With over $1 billion in annual transaction value and a workforce in the hundreds, this profitable organization is expanding at a double-digit rate. This is a critical leadership role for a visionary builder who can standardize high-volume operations across a growing network of seven facilities in California and New York.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Vice President of Supply Chain, you will take full ownership of the fulfillment P&L and supply chain performance across the entire warehouse network. You are tasked with transforming a complex, non-standardized environment into a high-efficiency machine. Your primary focus will be establishing the senior voice for operational excellence, ensuring that every unit—regardless of its unique packaging or handling requirements—is tracked with 100% accuracy within a tightly regulated framework.
- Drive the standardization of operations, processes, and KPIs across seven (and expanding) warehouse locations in California and New York.
- Optimize labor efficiency and throughput while maintaining a rigorous focus on cost-per-unit metrics across diverse, non-uniform product flows.
- Direct the evolution of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and technical infrastructure to support rapid scaling and increased volume.
- Ensure total compliance with state-level tracking and regulatory requirements, maintaining a flawless record of accountability for every unit handled.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing multi-site leadership team capable of executing at scale.
- Manage the fulfillment P&L, identifying opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements without sacrificing quality or speed.
The ideal candidate is a battle-tested logistics leader who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys the challenge of building structure from the ground up. We are looking for an executive who moves beyond pre-existing playbooks to create bespoke solutions for complex logistical hurdles.
- Over 15 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a proven track record in multi-site leadership.
- Deep expertise in regulated logistics environments such as CPG, cosmetics, beverage alcohol, or reverse fulfillment.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume operations involving varied handling requirements and non-standardized product sets.
- Expert-level fluency in operational metrics, including KPI design, labor efficiency tracking, and throughput optimization.
- Strategic experience with WMS implementation and the ability to evaluate and evolve systems as the organization grows.
- A resilient, problem-solving mindset with the ability to lead through change in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Ability to work on-site or travel regionally between California and New York locations as required.
