As the Vice President of People, reporting to the Senior Vice President of People Operations, you will play a critical leadership role in bringing this vision to life. You will design and drive an integrated, insights-driven talent strategy that connects every part of the employee experiencefrom how we attract and onboard talent to how we develop, engage, and retain our people. By aligning the full talent lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, employee engagement, Total Rewards, and professional development, you will ensure our systems empower leaders to deliver meaningful results and build a more just world.

Key Responsibilities- Talent Strategy & Organizational Alignment: Set and drive the overall talent philosophy for the KIPP Foundation, ensuring total alignment with organizational priorities and long-term goals.
- Strategic Advisory: Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and talent health, using data-driven insights to inform high-level decision-making.
- Systems Design: Oversee the effectiveness of the full talent lifecycle, ensuring that performance management, feedback cycles, and evaluation processes drive growth and retention.
- HR Operations Excellence: Partner with the Senior Director of People Operations to ensure robust infrastructure in recruitment, onboarding, Total Rewards, and legal compliance.
- Employee Relations & Risk Management: Establish the vision and standards for employee relations, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant application of HR policies across the organization.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coach a high-performing Talent function, managing Senior Directors across People Operations and Development & Growth to ensure execution of enterprise-level priorities.
- Culture Ambassadorship: Act as a visible culture leader, modeling KIPPs core values and reinforcing a high bar for performance, equity, and impact.
- Workforce Planning: Partner with leadership to drive annual talent planning and culture priorities that reflect KIPPs mission and values.
- Senior Leadership Experience: At least 8+ years of senior HR and talent management leadership experience, preferably within a nonprofit or education context.
- Equity-Centered Leadership: A proven track record of leading with equity at the center, particularly through periods of organizational change and growth.
- Systems Thinking: Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, sustainable talent systems in complex or ambiguous environments.
- Data Proficiency: Skilled at using workforce, engagement, and performance data to identify organizational risks and drive continuous improvement.
- Change Management: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate a case for change and translate a broad vision into actionable plans for diverse stakeholders.
- Remote Management: Experience cultivating a value-driven, inclusive work culture within a virtual or hybrid environment.
- Mission Alignment: A deep commitment to KIPPs mission of preparing students to lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.
- Competitive Salary: The salary range for this position is $197,600 - $236,500, commensurate with experience and market data.
