About the Role
Vestcom, an Avery Dennison business, is seeking a visionary Vice President of Operations to join our executive leadership team. This pivotal role provides the strategic direction for our operations, supply chain, and customer experience functions, ensuring we remain the industry leader in technology-driven shelf-edge solutions for the world’s largest retailers and CPG brands. As the VP of Operations, you will drive excellence across the organization with a relentless focus on high-quality delivery, operational efficiency, and a robust culture of safety and employee engagement.
Reporting directly to the VP & General Manager of Vestcom, you will be responsible for scaling our long-term capabilities while managing a multi-site operating model. You will serve as a bridge between market needs and manufacturing innovation, leveraging Avery Dennison’s global materials science expertise to optimize labor and supply chain efficiency. This is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned leader to manage a complex P&L and spearhead transformative initiatives within a multi-billion dollar global enterprise.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a core member of the Vestcom Leadership Team, representing Operations, Supply Chain, Machine Group, and Customer Experience functions.
- Accountable for On-Time and In-Full (OTIF) delivery and year-over-year improvement across financial, quality, service, and safety metrics.
- Develop and execute long-term strategic plans for operations capacity, organizational design, and workforce skill development.
- Implement world-class manufacturing practices and maintain a rigorous focus on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
- Manage strategic relationships with internal and external partners to integrate leading-edge improvements into manufacturing processes.
- Oversee the divisional P&L, conducting regular business reviews and working with financial management to monitor action plans for profitable growth.
- Lead a multi-function, multi-site leadership team, fostering a culture of trust, teamwork, and high performance.
- Drive consistent employee engagement strategies across all Vestcom service bureaus to ensure organizational alignment and retention.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive Operations experience, including site management and oversight of multi-functional organizational initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred.
- Proven track record in P&L management with a deep understanding of financial drivers and operational KPIs.
- Extensive experience in strategic planning, forecasting, and capital/expense budgeting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams through complex change management and strategy implementation.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong alignment with Avery Dennison/Vestcom values and a history of motivating a large workforce.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time to visit various sites and service bureaus.
