About the Role
Veriff is on a mission to build the benchmark for trust online, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our Product Platform team to help us scale this vision. In this role, you will go beyond traditional coding; you will be a technical leader responsible for architecting the robust, high-performance systems that allow Veriff to verify over 10,000 government-issued documents across 190 countries. As a key member of our Platform Area, you will support cross-domain business needs, ensuring our infrastructure remains agile and capable of handling millions of identities annually while maintaining the highest standards of security and reliability.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior Software Engineer, your primary focus will be on the evolution of the Veriff Platform, a critical component that enables our teams and customers to utilize innovative identity verification solutions seamlessly. You will be responsible for designing and scaling high-performance, maintainable, and secure systems that serve as the backbone for our global operations.
- Lead the architectural design of scalable platform systems that handle millions of verification requests with low latency and high availability.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous growth within the engineering organization.
- Drive the end-to-end development lifecycle, from initial ideation and technical design to deployment and post-launch optimization.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
- Identify and implement improvements in automation, reliability, and system observability to ensure the platform can adapt to rapid market changes.
- Take full ownership of specific components and features, ensuring they are robust, well-tested, and performant at scale.
- Apply a holistic problem-solving mindset to tackle challenges related to cross-domain business processes and technical debt.
We are looking for seasoned engineers who are passionate about problem-solving and have a proven track record of shipping successful software products within large, complex codebases.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience building and maintaining large-scale, distributed applications.
- Extensive expertise in the Node.js ecosystem, with deep proficiency in TypeScript.
- Demonstrated experience in a lead or senior capacity, having owned the lifecycle of specific features, systems, or platform components.
- Strong background in developing, debugging, and optimizing software within large-scale production environments.
- Solid understanding of modern infrastructure technologies, including AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with diverse backend technologies such as Python or Golang, and an interest in working with a polyglot tech stack.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to inspire and influence team members toward higher standards of engineering.
