The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to lead the revision of the Swiss Classification of Surgical Interventions (CHOP). In this pivotal role, based in Neuchâtel with flexible remote work options, you will act as a bridge between medical terminology and data science, ensuring that Switzerland’s healthcare coding systems remain accurate, modern, and aligned with international standards. As part of the DigiSanté program, you will contribute directly to the modernization of the Swiss healthcare data ecosystem.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Lead Project Manager for the CHOP revision, you will take full ownership of the lifecycle of medical classification updates. Your primary focus will be on maintaining the integrity and usability of surgical intervention data through the following activities:
- Lead the end-to-end planning and implementation of the Swiss Classification of Surgical Interventions (CHOP) revision process.
- Manage complex project workflows, ensuring milestones are met and documentation is meticulously maintained for full auditability.
- Actively engage with high-level stakeholders and interest groups across the Swiss healthcare sector to gather requirements and build consensus.
- Represent the FSO within the DigiSanté program and associated committees, advocating for data harmonization and digital excellence.
- Contribute to broader developmental projects involving both national and international medical classifications and nomenclatures.
- Oversee external communications regarding classification changes, ensuring transparency for hospitals, insurers, and medical professionals.
We are looking for a professional who combines a deep understanding of the medical field with expertise in information science. To succeed in this role, you should possess:
- A University degree in Health Information Management, Medical Informatics, or a related field.
- Alternatively, a healthcare degree (Doctor, Nursing FH, Therapist) complemented by specialized training in information science, library science, or medical documentation.
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within a public administration or healthcare environment.
- A strong technical interest in medical indexing languages, terminology systems, nomenclatures, and thesauri.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear information for diverse stakeholders.
- Fluency in at least two official Swiss languages and a professional command of English is highly desirable.
