About the Role

We are seeking two visionary and strategically minded individuals to join the Board of Trustees for a modern, forward-thinking philanthropic organisation. This organisation operates as a donor-advised fund (DAF), positioning itself at the innovative intersection of capital stewardship, governance, and long-term sustainability. Unlike traditional charitable structures, this organisation leverages a lean, agile model designed to create enduring impact across generations. We are looking for Trustees who view governance not as a bureaucratic hurdle, but as a vital enabler of progress and responsible innovation.

As a Trustee, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the institutional development of a platform dedicated to strategic philanthropy. The organisation partners with purpose-led leaders to turn complex global challenges into clear, actionable opportunities for social good. You will join a culture that values the seamless integration of human intuition with technology-driven efficiency, ensuring that charitable capital is managed with the highest degree of integrity and foresight. This is an invitation to contribute your expertise to a mission-driven board that prioritises clarity, practical innovation, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for the high-level oversight and strategic health of the organisation, ensuring it remains true to its charitable objectives while navigating a dynamic regulatory landscape. Core duties include:

  • Contributing to the overarching strategic direction and long-term institutional development of the organisation.
  • Providing effective oversight of risk management, compliance, and organisational performance within a DAF structure.
  • Offering constructive challenge to executive decisions and exercising independent, sound judgment during Board discussions.
  • Ensuring the organisation operates in full alignment with its governance responsibilities and legal obligations.
  • Supporting the development of scalable structures that ensure the sustainability of philanthropic initiatives over multiple generations.
  • Acting as a professional ambassador for the organisation, enhancing its reputation within the philanthropic and commercial sectors.
  • Collaborating with a diverse group of stakeholders to ensure transparency, accountability, and excellence in capital stewardship.

Qualifications

We are looking for entrepreneurial thinkers who are comfortable operating in fast-moving, evolving environments. Candidates should possess a commercial mindset and a deep-seated commitment to ethical leadership. Requirements include:

  • Significant experience in a senior leadership, Board, or Trustee role, with a proven track record of strategic decision-making.
  • The ability to operate effectively within complex stakeholder environments and navigate multifaceted regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, characterised by integrity, diplomacy, and the ability to provide high-level professional insight.
  • For the first vacancy: A strong professional background in legal, regulatory, or corporate governance matters.
  • For the second vacancy: Extensive expertise in finance, accounting, investment oversight, or financial governance.
  • Experience within the charity sector, foundations, or international philanthropic organisations is highly desirable.
  • A proactive interest in how technology and AI-driven workflows can enhance operational delivery and impact measurement.

Benefits

This is a voluntary position that offers the opportunity to influence the future of global philanthropy and contribute to a legacy of long-term social impact. Benefits include:

  • The opportunity to help shape a modern, agile philanthropic model from the ground up.
  • A flexible, fully remote working arrangement requiring approximately one day per month.
  • Exposure to high-level strategic discussions at the intersection of finance, technology, and social good.
  • Reimbursement of all reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred in the performance of Trustee duties.
  • The chance to work alongside a diverse and highly skilled Board of strategic collaborators and purpose-led leaders.
