Triage Medical Assistant

About the Role

Apex Skin is a physician-led dermatology practice dedicated to providing high-quality care and exceptional patient experiences across Northeast Ohio. We are seeking a fully remote Triage Medical Assistant to support patient care through high-volume phone interactions and efficient care coordination.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM). Candidates must reside in the state of Ohio.

Essential Functions:

• Manage high-volume inbound calls and triage patient needs using clinical judgment.
• Communicate effectively with providers and office teams regarding patient care plans.
• Provide patients with pathology results and follow-up instructions.
• Schedule appointments, including surgeries and procedures, when additional support is needed.
• Process prescription refill requests and send prescriptions as directed.
• Verify insurance information, collect patient payments, and submit prior authorizations.
• Accurately document patient interactions and create tasks within ModMed EHR.
• Handle calls from patients, providers, and hospitals to determine urgency and appropriate resolution.
