About the Role
Toast is seeking a strategic and analytical Senior Enterprise Process Engineer to spearhead the evolution of our operational workflows within the Enterprise line of business. As Toast continues to rapidly expand its market presence, the need for scalable, efficient, and seamless processes across every stage of the customer lifecycle—from initial acquisition and onboarding to long-term success and renewal—has never been more critical. This role offers a unique opportunity to act as an architect of operational excellence, bridging the gap between diverse teams such as Sales, Customer Success, Billing, Product, and Systems. You will be responsible for ensuring our Enterprise customers receive a consistent, world-class experience while simultaneously driving internal efficiency and technical scalability.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be the driving force behind the design and implementation of highly scalable operational processes. Your day-to-day will involve complex problem-solving and high-level strategic alignment across the organization to ensure work flows effortlessly through our ecosystem.
- Map, analyze, and redesign end-to-end operational processes across the Enterprise lifecycle to eliminate bottlenecks and enhance customer outcomes.
- Identify and resolve areas of operational friction, streamlining handoffs between departments and reducing manual overhead through automation and workflow optimization.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives by partnering with senior leaders in Sales, Solutions, Onboarding, and Care to align the Enterprise operating model with business growth goals.
- Collaborate deeply with internal systems teams to translate operational requirements into technical specifications for tools like Salesforce and other lifecycle management platforms.
- Conduct root cause analysis on performance data to diagnose inefficiencies and develop data-driven solutions for process breakdowns.
- Manage the full lifecycle of process adoption, including the creation of comprehensive documentation and rollout plans to ensure sustained change and measurable impact across all teams.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement by experimenting with emerging technologies and AI-driven productivity tools to enhance workflow automation.
The ideal candidate is a systems-oriented thinker who thrives in high-growth environments and possesses a deep understanding of the SaaS business model and enterprise-level operations.
- Over 7 years of professional experience in process engineering, business transformation, or operations within the technology or SaaS industry.
- Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional process improvement projects from inception through to global implementation.
- Advanced expertise in process mapping, workflow design, and structured methodologies, with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or equivalent) certification required.
- Strong technical literacy with enterprise-grade operational tools such as Salesforce, DocuSign, ServiceNow, or customer lifecycle tooling.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence decision-making and drive change across teams without direct authority.
- A growth-oriented mindset with a proactive interest in leveraging AI tools and modern productivity frameworks to build more effectively for customers.
- Ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous information into structured operational frameworks and actionable project plans.
