About the Role

Arbury Group is expanding its digital service capabilities and is seeking an experienced Level 3 Technician to join our team as a Remote Diagnostic Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary technical authority, supporting our physical workshop locations across the country from a professional remote setting. You will bridge the gap between complex automotive engineering and real-world application, ensuring that our service standards remain at the absolute pinnacle of the industry. This is a unique opportunity for an expert technician to transition into a strategic, remote-based position that prioritizes analytical problem-solving, digital diagnostics, and technical mentorship over traditional workshop labor. As we continue to integrate cutting-edge technology into our service model, your expertise will be fundamental in maintaining the high levels of customer satisfaction and mechanical excellence that Arbury Group is known for.

Key Responsibilities

As a Level 3 Remote Technician, you will be the lead expert for all high-level technical inquiries and complex fault resolutions. Your primary duties will include:

  • Providing real-time remote diagnostic support to workshop technicians using advanced telematics and remote-access diagnostic software.
  • Analyzing complex vehicle data logs and oscilloscope readings to identify intermittent faults that require advanced Level 3 expertise.
  • Guiding on-site teams through intricate repair procedures for electrical systems, advanced drivetrains, and EV battery management systems.
  • Reviewing and validating technical warranty claims to ensure strict compliance with manufacturer standards and Arbury Group internal protocols.
  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive internal knowledge base of technical bulletins and efficient repair shortcuts for the wider technician network.
  • Leading virtual technical briefings and workshops to disseminate critical updates regarding new vehicle models and emerging diagnostic technologies.
  • Collaborating directly with manufacturer technical helpdesks to escalate and resolve unprecedented mechanical or software-based issues.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators related to first-time fix rates and providing technical interventions where necessary.

Qualifications

To succeed in this senior-level technical role, you must possess a profound understanding of modern automotive systems and a proven track record of diagnostic excellence within a high-performance environment:

  • Full Level 3 NVQ in Automotive Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent internationally recognized professional qualification.
  • Extensive experience as a Senior or Master Technician within a main dealer environment, ideally with experience across Arbury Groups core brands.
  • Advanced proficiency in using manufacturer-specific diagnostic tools and third-party software suites for deep-system interrogation.
  • Strong digital literacy with the ability to navigate remote support software, cloud-based management systems, and virtual collaboration tools fluently.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technicians of varying experience levels.
  • A disciplined and proactive approach to remote work, with the ability to manage multiple support tickets simultaneously while maintaining extreme accuracy.
  • Expertise in Electric and Hybrid vehicle systems, preferably supported by a Level 3 or Level 4 EV qualification.
  • An analytical mindset with a passion for staying ahead of the curve in automotive technology and software integration.

Benefits

Arbury Group is committed to rewarding the deep expertise of our Level 3 Technicians with a comprehensive package designed to support career longevity and a healthy work-life balance:

  • Full remote work flexibility, allowing you to operate from a professional home office environment without the physical strain of the workshop floor.
  • A highly competitive salary package that reflects your status as a senior technical authority within the group.
  • Continuous professional development through fully funded, accredited manufacturer training programs and high-level digital certifications.
  • Generous annual leave entitlement including bank holidays, with additional days awarded for long-term service milestones.
  • Exclusive employee discounts on vehicle purchases, servicing, and parts across the entire Arbury Group network for you and your family.
  • Comprehensive private healthcare options and a robust contributory pension scheme to ensure your long-term well-being.
  • State-of-the-art hardware provided by the company, including high-performance laptops and multi-monitor diagnostic setups tailored for remote technical support.
