As a System Software Engineer at HPE, you will participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and hardware compatibility determination to debugging and enhancement. Key Responsibilities- Design and program software enhancements, updates, and changes for critical subsystems, including operating systems, compilers, and networking tools.
- Execute rigorous test plans and protocols to identify, log, and debug code issues, ensuring the highest standards of software reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and outsourced development partners to create scalable solutions for low to moderately complex products.
- Determine hardware compatibility and influence hardware design to optimize software performance across edge-to-cloud architectures.
- Apply secure coding practices and cyber security fundamentals to protect data and applications in a complex global landscape.
- Engage in Agile/SCRUM development cycles to maintain a rapid pace of innovation and iterative improvement.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 2-3 years of professional experience in software engineering or systems development.
- Proficiency in C# and the .NET Framework, with a strong grasp of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) methodologies.
- In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
- Experience with SQL Server, database development, and Structured Query Language (SQL).
- Working knowledge of Web Development technologies including HTML5, IIS, and REST-based APIs (HTTPS).
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Perl.
- Experience with modern DevOps tools, including GitHub for version control, Jenkins for CI/CD, and Docker/Containers.
