About the Role

UHP (Unlock Human Potential) is searching for a dedicated and meticulous Staff Accountant to join our mission-driven team in a fully remote capacity. This is a unique opportunity to apply your financial expertise within an organization that is profoundly changing the lives of service members and veterans through immersive leadership development and high-impact human performance training. Based on our expansive 800-acre campus in Northwest Arkansas, UHP bridges the gap between military service and civilian success by focusing on four core pillars: Think, Train, Feel, and Lead. As our Staff Accountant, you will serve as the backbone of our daily financial operations, ensuring that our resources are managed with the same level of integrity, accuracy, and excellence that we instill in our program participants.

Key Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and supporting the broader accounting function through consistent, high-quality work. Your daily contributions will ensure that UHP remains agile and financially sound as we continue to scale our impact for the veteran community.

  • Accurately record daily financial transactions, ensuring that all entries align with established GAAP principles and organizational policies.
  • Execute full-cycle Accounts Payable processes, including the diligent review of vendor invoices, verification of departmental approvals, and timely preparation of payments.
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable functions, which includes managing customer billing, monitoring aging reports, and conducting weekly collections activities to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Perform comprehensive account reconciliations on a regular basis to identify and resolve discrepancies, ensuring the general ledger remains accurate and up to date.
  • Assist the leadership team with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports by providing necessary documentation and data analysis.
  • Maintain a highly organized and secure digital filing system for all financial records, audit trails, and compliance documentation to ensure data accessibility.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for financial inquiries from vendors, internal department heads, and external stakeholders, providing professional and timely responses.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and provide administrative assistance for special financial projects as needed to improve overall operational efficiency.
Qualifications

We are looking for a proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a deep commitment to accuracy and ethical financial management. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage their time effectively in a remote setting while staying connected to our core mission.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required to ensure a foundational understanding of core accounting principles.
  • A minimum of 1+ years of professional experience in an accounting or finance role; experience within a student financials, billing, or educational environment is highly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is non-negotiable; you must be comfortable using complex formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables to manipulate and analyze financial data.
  • Previous experience using QuickBooks for bookkeeping and HubSpot for CRM or financial tracking is considered a significant advantage.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with a proven ability to prioritize competing deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and professionally to various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive organizational and personal financial data.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team structure, utilizing modern digital communication tools effectively.
Benefits

Joining UHP means more than just taking a job; it means becoming part of a community that values growth, purpose, and excellence. We are committed to supporting our employees just as we support our veterans by offering a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Competitive compensation package designed to attract and reward top-tier financial talent.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans to support your overall well-being and that of your family.
  • Robust 401(k) retirement plan to help you secure your long-term financial future.
  • Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) policy to ensure a healthy work-life balance and time for personal rejuvenation.
  • Dedicated professional development support, providing opportunities for continued learning, certifications, and career advancement.
  • The opportunity to work alongside a passionate team in a high-performance culture that directly impacts the lives of service members.
  • Fully remote work flexibility, allowing you to contribute to a meaningful mission from your preferred location while staying integrated with our Northwest Arkansas roots.

At UHP, we believe in belonging to something, believing in something, and striving for something. If you are a financial professional who wants your daily work to have a lasting, purpose-driven impact, we encourage you to apply and help us unlock the potential of those who have served our nation.
