About the Role
Higharc is looking for a talented and pragmatic Software Engineer to join our growing Showroom team. As a remote-first, VC-backed startup that has raised over $83 million, we are fundamentally changing the way new homes are designed, sold, and built. You will be joining an elite founding team with a pedigree from companies like Autodesk, Electronic Arts, and Apple, working on a product that bridges the gap between complex 3D CAD models and user-friendly consumer experiences. In this role, you will take high-level ownership of core product functions, driving end-to-end features across our entire stack to help homebuilders and buyers navigate the complexity of modern construction.
As a member of the Showroom team, you will report to the Software Manager and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Product and Design. Your work will involve building sophisticated systems that manage intricate interdependencies, from pricing logic to regional availability. Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain robust, full-stack features that encompass everything from intuitive user interfaces to complex backend business logic and data models.
- Design and implement sophisticated rule engines capable of managing intricate pricing structures, inventory tracking, and constraint-based availability logic.
- Architect extensible and highly maintainable systems that can gracefully scale alongside increasing product complexity and a growing user base.
- Create seamless configuration and customization experiences that allow users to navigate thousands of interdependent choices with ease.
- Identify and resolve backend performance bottlenecks through query tuning, indexing strategies, and the resolution of N+1 patterns to ensure a high-performance user experience.
- Engineer complex search, filtering, and data-querying systems designed to handle large, multifaceted datasets across various regional contexts.
- Bridge the gap between visual design tools and underlying data layers, ensuring that 3D/CAD-adjacent features are accurately reflected in business logic.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate high-level requirements into polished, production-ready features.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in full-stack engineering, with a proven track record of shipping high-quality, user-facing products.
- Professional competency in building modern web applications using React and managing complex data structures with SQL.
- Strong expertise in API design and backend performance optimization, specifically regarding database queries and system architecture.
- Previous experience developing configurators, customization tools, or complex rule-based systems where user choices trigger cascading logic.
- A deep intuition for UX and a passion for building interfaces that feel polished and responsive to the end user.
- The ability to reason through complex constraint systems and translate those constraints into clean, maintainable code.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
- Bonus points for familiarity with the 3D/CAD ecosystem or experience building visual design tools.
