We are looking for a mission-driven SDE-3 Backend Builder to take end-to-end ownership of the CRM Opportunities product. Opportunities is the deal and pipeline engine at the heart of our platform—the system of record for every revenue motion our customers run. In this role, you will be a high-autonomy architect and builder, designing the data models and distributed workflows that support millions of pipelines. You will be responsible for turning ambiguous business problems into resilient production systems, ensuring our infrastructure continues to scale alongside our rapid global growth.
Key Responsibilities- Direct the full lifecycle of the Opportunities backend, translating complex customer requirements into scalable, production-grade microservices.
- Design and evolve sophisticated data models for pipelines, stages, and deals, ensuring high throughput and query consistency across distributed environments.
- Architect and scale high-volume APIs, event-driven workflows, and background processing jobs.
- Solve complex distributed systems challenges, including idempotency, eventual consistency, race conditions, and noisy-neighbor isolation.
- Optimize system performance for large-scale workspaces containing millions of records through advanced indexing, sharding, and caching strategies.
- Maintain full-stack fluency by shipping necessary UI enhancements in Vue.js to ensure seamless feature delivery without external dependencies.
- Implement comprehensive system instrumentation using logs, metrics, and traces to maintain high-quality Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Lead incident response efforts and conduct thorough postmortems to drive a culture of continuous engineering hygiene and reliability.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience building and operating high-scale production backend systems.
- Advanced knowledge of backend fundamentals, including SQL and NoSQL data modeling, API design, and distributed systems architecture.
- Professional hands-on experience with Node.js or Go in a high-traffic production environment.
- Proven track record of owning services from initial design and deployment through to maintenance and on-call support.
- Experience working with multi-tenant SaaS architectures, specifically focusing on sharding and tenant isolation.
- Strong familiarity with event streaming technologies such as Kafka or Redis Streams and asynchronous message processing.
- Experience managing non-trivial data at scale using MongoDB, Postgres, ElasticSearch, or ClickHouse.
- Sufficient frontend fluency in Vue.js to independently ship end-to-end features.
