About the Role
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is seeking a creative and organized Social Media Coordinator to support the day-to-day execution of our flagship social media presence. In this role, you will help cultivate and engage a global community connected by a shared love of nature, ensuring our content is timely, strategic, and optimized across all primary platforms. As a key member of the marketing team, you will serve as a central point of coordination for social content, facilitating community engagement and supporting light-lift content creation. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across the organization to source and prioritize content that encourages awareness and action. Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily planning, scheduling, and publishing of high-quality content across TNC’s flagship channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and emerging platforms.
- Maintain and update the social media content calendar in partnership with the Social Media Strategist, making real-time adjustments based on performance data and cultural moments.
- Execute daily community management by monitoring and responding to comments, replies, and direct messages in alignment with brand voice and engagement guidelines.
- Source, organize, and edit assets from internal stakeholders and identify opportunities to repurpose high-performing evergreen content.
- Support light-lift content creation, including drafting engaging social copy and sourcing visual assets for timely posts tied to media coverage or campaign milestones.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing and editorial teams to ensure assets are properly tagged, tracked, and scheduled for optimal performance.
- Stay current on emerging social media trends, formats, and tool updates to inform experimentation and continuous improvement.
- Utilize social media management tools such as Sprout Social, Canva, and Asana to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in social media or digital communications.
- Proven experience organizing and coordinating complex projects within a professional environment.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills with high attention to detail for business and marketing materials.
- Practical understanding of social media performance metrics and how to apply insights to content strategy.
- Experience using social media management platforms (e.g., Sprout Social) and creative tools (e.g., Canva).
- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and explain social media best practices to non-technical partners.
- Demonstrated interest in digital culture, audience behavior, and mission-driven storytelling.
