As a Site Reliability Engineer at RBC, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our digital infrastructure by leading the transformation of our test environment management. We are looking for a forward-thinking professional to drive our Cloud-First and Self-Healing initiatives, ensuring that our pre-production environments are as resilient and efficient as our production systems. Key Responsibilities- Design and execute technical solutions that align with business objectives and project milestones, spearheading the next generation of Test Environment Management transformation.
- Deploy and manage sophisticated observability tooling, including Dynatrace and Splunk, across all test environments to ensure maximum uptime and performance visibility.
- Lead initiatives to identify and remediate P1-P4 vulnerabilities, significantly improving the security posture of the pre-production landscape.
- Manage environment demand across multiple projects and development streams, proactively resolving resource contention and optimizing usage.
- Partner closely with DevOps, Software Development, and Quality Engineering teams to integrate SCM tools and automate end-to-end environment setups, data provisioning, and code deployments.
- Coordinate the architecture and creation of new test environments as required by evolving business needs.
- Modernize IT operations by automating complex application, data, and infrastructure processes to reduce manual intervention.
- Provide comprehensive reporting on environment usage, service capability, and availability to stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication regarding status changes.
- Proven experience in Test Environment Management within medium to complex enterprise-level ecosystems.
- Advanced proficiency with Source Control Management (SCM) and DevOps automation tools such as Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, GitHub Actions, and Ansible.
- Extensive hands-on experience with observability and incident management platforms, specifically Dynatrace, Splunk, and PagerDuty.
- Strong familiarity with the ServiceNow platform, JIRA, and Confluence for workflow management and documentation.
- Solid technical foundation in database technologies and infrastructure environments including Windows, Linux, and OpenShift.
- Deep understanding of IT standards, methodologies, CMM, and audit requirements to ensure compliant operations.
- Working knowledge of middleware technologies such as MQSeries, WebSphere, WXF, XML, and .NET.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about long-term infrastructure planning and predictive analytics.
