Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive support to lead drillers and site engineers during various site investigation activities, including trial pitting, borehole drilling, and soil sampling procedures.
- Execute essential site preparation tasks such as clearing vegetation, setting up secure perimeters, and ensuring all work areas are organized and free of hazards before operations begin.
- Assist in the mobilization and demobilization of heavy machinery and specialized geotechnical equipment, ensuring all tools are safely transported, cleaned, and correctly positioned.
- Perform routine maintenance on site equipment and company vehicles to ensure operational efficiency and minimize downtime during critical project phases.
- Handle and store geotechnical samples with extreme care, following strict protocols to maintain sample integrity for subsequent laboratory analysis and reporting.
- Actively participate in daily health and safety briefings, identifying potential risks on-site and implementing mitigation measures in line with company policy and HSE regulations.
- Maintain a clean and professional site environment by managing waste disposal and ensuring all materials are stored according to environmental guidelines and project specifications.
- Liaise with site managers and project coordinators via mobile platforms to provide updates on task progress and assist in the digital documentation of daily site activities.
- Possession of a valid CSCS Green Card is essential for this role, demonstrating a fundamental understanding of site safety and industry best practices.
- A full, clean UK driving license is required, as the role involves traveling to various remote project locations and transporting essential equipment.
- Demonstrable experience in a manual handling or labor-intensive role, preferably within the construction, civil engineering, or environmental sectors.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding manual tasks in all weather conditions throughout the year is a core requirement of the position.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow complex technical instructions with accuracy, patience, and high attention to detail.
