About the Role

Omnicom Health is looking for a dedicated and strategic Senior Medical Editor to join our global network of healthcare communications experts. In this remote-first position, you will act as a cornerstone of our scientific team, transforming complex data into compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences across the commercial and clinical landscape. Reporting directly to the Scientific Director, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity while fostering an environment of continuous learning and excellence for our junior staff. This is an opportunity to influence the trajectory of breakthrough therapies through precise, impactful communication and strategic partnership with industry-leading clients. You will be joining a forward-thinking organization that values scientific accuracy as the foundation of effective healthcare marketing.

Key Responsibilities As a Senior Medical Editor, your primary focus will be the delivery of flawless scientific content that aligns with the broader commercial strategy of our clients. You will demonstrate a profound understanding of how communication functions within specific therapy areas, identifying how medical milestones can be leveraged into new business opportunities. You will be expected to communicate clearly across various platforms, including traditional print and advanced digital media, ensuring that every piece of content is tailored to its specific audience—whether that be healthcare professionals, patients, or internal stakeholders. In terms of project leadership, you will oversee multiple accounts simultaneously, ensuring that all work adheres to strict timelines, budgetary constraints, and predefined scopes of work. You will be a champion of our internal quality control processes, meticulously reviewing the work of junior team members to set a benchmark for excellence. Beyond content creation, you will serve as a mentor, providing regular, constructive feedback to junior writers and editors, and escalating any anticipated resource needs or project challenges to the senior leadership team in a timely manner. Your expertise will also extend to resource planning and a deep commitment to pharmaceutical industry standards and compliance protocols, ensuring that all output meets the rigorous demands of the medical landscape.

Qualifications To excel in this role, you should possess a robust background in medical communications or a related field. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate a high level of scientific acumen and the ability to work independently on complex content while managing strategic initiatives.
  • An advanced degree in a life sciences discipline, such as a PhD, PharmD, or MD, is highly preferred.
  • Significant experience in a medical writing or senior editorial role within a healthcare communications agency environment.
  • Proven ability to translate strategic concepts into accurate, engaging, and compliant scientific content.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of mentoring junior staff and managing cross-functional workflows.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining rigorous internal review and quality control processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, including GPP3 and specific local regulatory guidelines.
  • Proficiency in digital content management systems and traditional editorial workflows.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.

  • Competitive annual salary commensurate with seniority and professional experience.
  • Fully remote work options providing the flexibility to work from your preferred location.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans for you and your dependents.
  • Generous paid time off, including annual leave, public holidays, and dedicated mental health days.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with a competitive company matching program.
  • A dedicated budget for professional development, including certifications, workshops, and conference attendance.
