As a Senior Assistant ARFF, you will serve as a primary responder to aircraft incidents, structural fires, and medical emergencies within the airport's jurisdiction. Key ResponsibilitiesThe core focus of this role is the execution of rapid, effective emergency response strategies. You will be responsible for responding immediately to all aircraft incidents, structural fires, and hazardous material spills on airport property. By performing high-level firefighting and rescue operations, you will safeguard individuals and minimize property damage. Your duties include extinguishing fires using advanced agents such as foam, dry chemicals, and specialized water systems, as well as leading search and rescue missions in complex, smoke-filled environments.
- Provide critical first aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) to injured or ill individuals, coordinating closely with advanced medical teams for patient transport and stabilization.
- Execute daily inspections and preventative maintenance on firefighting vehicles, high-pressure extinguishers, and specialized Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to guarantee constant operational readiness.
- Maintain a meticulous inventory of all firefighting supplies, ensuring all gear is calibrated and ready for immediate deployment in line with ICAO mandates.
- Participate in intensive emergency response simulations and routine fire drills to sharpen tactical skills and team coordination.
- Document all activities through detailed incident reports, shift logs, and training records to ensure full compliance during regulatory audits by civil aviation authorities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Air Traffic Control (ATC), Airport Operations, and Security teams, to ensure a unified response during emergencies.
- Identify potential site hazards during regular patrols and inspections, taking immediate corrective action to maintain a hazard-free environment.
To excel in this role, candidates must possess a strong technical background in firefighting and a proven track record in emergency services. We require professionals who are not only physically capable but also possess the analytical skills to make split-second decisions under pressure.
- A recognized Diploma in Fire Fighting Technology or an equivalent professional qualification from a reputable institution.
- Mandatory certification from an accredited firefighting academy with specialized training in aircraft rescue.
- A minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional firefighting experience, with a strong preference for those who have worked in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) environments.
- Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal firefighting regulations, as well as International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside diverse internal and external stakeholders.
