About the Role

Smart Working is seeking a Senior professional to join a collaborative engineering and analytics team. In this role, you will be embedded in the full data lifecycle—ingestion, transformation, modelling, and surfacing insights—while shaping architecture and standards for a brand that takes its data seriously.

• Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines into Google BigQuery, ensuring reliability and scalability.
• Develop and enforce data models and schema standards using SQL and dimensional modelling principles.
• Own and optimize the Google BigQuery environment, managing costs and enforcing data governance.
• Build and maintain Looker explores, LookML models, and dashboards for non-technical stakeholders.
• Architect end-to-end data solutions across the GCP stack, including Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
• Partner with commercial, product, and marketing teams to translate business problems into technical solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and maintain high engineering standards and documentation.

• 5+ years of experience in SQL and dimensional data modelling (star schemas, performance optimization).
• 3+ years of production experience with Google BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub).
• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines at scale.
• Experience with Looker and LookML to deliver business-facing data products.
• Ability to communicate technical limitations and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool) and orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
• Python skills for pipeline scripting and automation.
• Background in retail, e-commerce, or fashion.
• Knowledge of Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code.
