About the Role
Blackstone Talent Group is seeking a dedicated and organized Scrum Master to join our team for a high-impact six-month contract. In this remote-based role, you will play a vital part in streamlining the software development lifecycle by supporting Agile delivery for assigned teams under the mentorship of our Senior Scrum Master Lead. You will serve as a facilitator, communicator, and problem-solver, ensuring that our development teams remain focused on high-quality delivery while adhering to established Agile principles and frameworks.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate essential team-level Agile ceremonies, including daily standups, sprint planning sessions, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews.
- Maintain and optimize team boards and delivery artifacts within Jira and Confluence to ensure all work is current, transparent, and accurately tracked.
- Assist the Senior Scrum Master Lead with sprint forecasting, team capacity planning, and ensuring backlog items meet the 'Definition of Ready.'
- Actively track, document, and escalate impediments, risks, and dependencies, following through on all action items to prevent delivery delays.
- Monitor and report on basic delivery metrics and provide regular status updates to leadership regarding team velocity and sprint health.
- Advocate for Agile best practices, helping the team adopt consistent working agreements and fostering an environment of continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional IT team members and various business stakeholders to ensure alignment.
- Possess 1-3 years of professional experience in an Agile delivery or project coordination role.
- Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of Scrum fundamentals, Agile principles, and various iterative development methodologies.
- Showcase exceptional organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail regarding data accuracy and documentation.
- Exhibit clear written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to raise risks and issues early in the delivery cycle.
- Proven proficiency with industry-standard Agile delivery tools, specifically Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
- A recognized Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM or PSM I) is considered a significant advantage.
- Must be able to work as a W2 contractor; please note that C2C (Corp-to-Corp) arrangements are not available for this position.
