About the Role

Osmind is a mission-driven public benefit corporation at the intersection of technology and interventional psychiatry, dedicated to closing the gap between scientific innovation and real-world care. As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will be the engine of our financial operations, managing complex accounts receivable (AR) follow-ups, navigating intricate prior authorization landscapes, and leveraging an AI-native tech stack to support over 1,000 independent psychiatry practices nationwide. We are looking for a high-ownership professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about utilizing modern tools to solve the most challenging billing hurdles in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, your primary objective is to own the cash side of the revenue cycle, ensuring that clean claims flow seamlessly without bottlenecks. You will proactively manage outstanding AR across 30, 60, and 90-day aging buckets, prioritizing high-dollar claims and resolving the denials, rejections, and holds that impede cash flow. Beyond basic processing, you will partner directly with clinical practices to gather necessary documentation, resolve specific payer issues, and establish long-term strategies to prevent recurring denial patterns.

  • Prior Authorization Fluency: You will pick up complex PA work, demonstrating a deep understanding of medical versus pharmacy benefit routing, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and the nuances of buy-and-bill versus specialty pharmacy procurement.
  • Advanced Billing Mastery: Navigate the complexities of modern E&M and telehealth billing with ease, staying updated on state-by-state and payer-specific modifier requirements and translating reimbursement policies into immediate billing actions.
  • Quality and Process Improvement: You will audit existing AR backlogs and flag opportunities for template, SOP, or workflow improvements, contributing directly to the operational evolution of our billing team.
  • Professional Communication: Deliver clear, actionable, and concise messages to providers, ensuring every interaction is professional and enables the practice to act without further follow-up.
  • Internal Collaboration: Maintain a culture of transparency by raising blockers proactively in internal channels, ensuring that challenges are addressed in hours rather than days.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses at least three years of hands-on experience in AR resolution, including extensive work with denials, rejections, appeals, and aging bucket prioritization. We are looking for someone who treats learning new software as a core competency and can adapt to proprietary platforms without extensive formal training.

  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with major payer portals such as Availity, Navinet, or PayerCompass, and a high level of comfort using AI tools like Claude or Gemini to optimize your daily workflow.
  • Specialized Expertise: A strong understanding of medical and pharmacy benefits, including experience requesting, amending, and following prior authorizations through to resolution.
  • Startup Readiness: You are energized by pace and ownership, preferring to shape processes rather than simply inheriting them.
  • Communication Skills: An open and direct communication style, with the ability to ask clear questions and provide constructive feedback.
  • Preferred Experience: Prior experience in interventional psychiatry (TMS, Spravato, Ketamine), oncology, or infusion billing is a major plus, as is familiarity with Candid Health, CoverMyMeds, Notion, or Slack.

Benefits

This is a remote, full-time W-2 position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the United States. You will be joining a public benefit corporation backed by top-tier investors, contributing to a mission that directly improves mental health outcomes across the country.

  • Impact-Driven Culture: Work on the forefront of psychiatric innovation, supporting treatments for high-acuity patients.
  • Remote-First Environment: Enjoy a flexible, remote workspace with a team that values proactive communication and results.
  • Professional Growth: Gain experience with an industry-leading revenue cycle platform and a modern AI-native stack in a high-growth startup setting.

Application Note: To be considered, please include a 4–6 sentence response regarding a specific denial type, payer policy quirk, or PA hurdle you encountered in the last six months. Please specify the payer, the CPT/HCPCS code or drug, the specific hurdle, and how you eventually resolved the issue.
