About the Role

Madison Hunt is proud to represent a highly active energy transition investment platform in its search for a high-caliber Associate or Senior Associate. This is a rare opportunity to join a lean, high-performing team at the forefront of the global energy shift, specifically focusing on growth equity investments across electrification, battery storage, and renewable-adjacent infrastructure. As the firm scales its operations and prepares for the deployment of its latest fund, the successful candidate will gain unparalleled exposure to the entire investment lifecycle, working alongside seasoned industry leaders to identify and scale the platforms of tomorrow. This role is designed for a professional who combines rigorous technical expertise with a commercial, entrepreneurial spirit, and who is eager to take on significant responsibility within a rapidly evolving asset class.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate or Senior Associate will be deeply integrated into the core investment team, operating with high visibility and autonomy. You will be responsible for navigating complex transaction environments and supporting the strategic growth of the platform through the following activities:

  • Lead the evaluation and execution of minority growth equity investments, ensuring all opportunities align with the firms energy transition mandate and risk-return profile.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models to support investment underwriting, valuation, and sensitivity analysis for diverse infrastructure and growth-stage assets.
  • Manage the full due diligence process, coordinating with external advisors, legal counsel, and technical experts to mitigate risk and ensure thorough transaction scrutiny.
  • Prepare comprehensive investment committee materials and deal memos that articulate clear investment theses and strategic recommendations.
  • Directly support portfolio company management teams on operational initiatives, strategic finance, and platform scaling to drive long-term value creation.
  • Contribute significantly to fundraising and investor relations initiatives, helping to communicate the platforms unique strategy and performance to Limited Partners.
  • Monitor industry trends in battery storage, distributed energy, and EV infrastructure to identify emerging investment themes and competitive landscapes.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a strong foundation in complex finance and a genuine passion for the energy transition ecosystem. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 4 to 6 years of professional experience within infrastructure investing, growth equity, investment banking, project finance, or a high-level strategic finance role.
  • Exceptional financial modeling capabilities and a proven track record of managing transaction execution from inception to close.
  • A deep interest in the energy transition, including specific familiarity with electrification, battery storage, and renewable energy infrastructure sectors.
  • The ability to thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where proactive communication and self-starting capabilities are essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interface effectively with portfolio executives and institutional investors.
  • A commercial mindset that balances rigorous analytical detail with a broad understanding of market dynamics and strategic positioning.
  • An MBA from a top-tier institution is considered a significant advantage but is not a mandatory requirement for candidates with equivalent practical experience.

Benefits

Joining this platform offers more than just a seat at the table; it provides a pathway to becoming a leader in the sustainable investment space. Benefits of the role include:

  • The flexibility of a remote-first work environment, with a preference for candidates based in San Francisco, New York, or Pennsylvania.
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary, performance-related bonuses, and long-term incentives.
  • Significant career progression opportunities within a scaling platform that values internal development and early responsibility.
  • Exposure to high-profile, industry-defining transactions that contribute directly to global decarbonization and energy security.
  • A collaborative and intellectual culture that encourages innovative thinking and strategic contribution at all levels.
