Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Postperson with Driving, your day will be dynamic, physically engaging, and highly independent. Starting your shift at the Peterborough Delivery Office, you will be responsible for organizing your route and ensuring every item is handled with care. Your primary duties will include:
- Delivering mail and parcels to a diverse range of residential and business addresses across the Peterborough area.
- Operating a manual Royal Mail delivery van safely and responsibly, ensuring all vehicle checks and safety protocols are followed.
- Walking for significant periods in all weather conditions, covering your assigned route efficiently to meet delivery targets.
- Acting as a professional brand ambassador for Royal Mail, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a positive presence in the community.
- Using handheld technology to scan items, capture signatures, and provide real-time tracking information for our customers.
- Working collaboratively with the delivery office team to load vehicles and prepare mail for the day's operations.
- Maintaining the security of the mail and your vehicle at all times, ensuring the safe transit of sensitive documents and valuable goods.
We are looking for upbeat, self-motivated individuals who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a local community. To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points is an essential requirement.
- Strong organizational skills and excellent punctuality to ensure that all deliveries are made on time.
- A friendly, 'people-person' attitude with the ability to provide great customer service to a variety of people.
- Physical stamina and a love for the outdoors, as you will be walking for long periods in various weather conditions.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload while out on your delivery route.
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern, which includes working approximately five in six Saturdays and one in six Sundays.
- A strong sense of pride in your work and a commitment to serving the Peterborough community.
