About the Role
Instituto Cordial is seeking a highly analytical and purpose-driven Researcher in Theory of Change to play a pivotal role in our Resilience and Just Transition pillar. As the global economy shifts toward sustainability, our mission is to ensure that decarbonization and climate adaptation drive genuine social development without exacerbating vulnerabilities. This professional will be responsible for transforming complex knowledge into a structured strategic framework, bridge the gap between current challenges and long-term impact goals, and ensuring that our partner’s actions are logically aligned with a vision of a just and inclusive economy.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will lead the technical development of the Theory of Change, creating a robust logical framework that connects strategic objectives to measurable impact indicators. You will be expected to:
- Develop and structure the Theory of Change document, identifying intermediate results, necessary interventions, and the causal links required for systemic change.
- Conduct exhaustive literature reviews and benchmarking to bring international best practices in low-carbon transition and climate resilience to the local context.
- Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative data to produce diagnostic reports that guide high-level strategic decision-making.
- Identify critical assumptions and external conditions necessary for the success of each project phase.
- Draft high-quality executive presentations and detailed technical reports for diverse audiences, including senior leadership and specialized stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops and collaborative sessions to align diverse perspectives into a cohesive impact strategy.
We are looking for a professional who combines technical rigor with a deep understanding of socio-environmental dynamics. Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Administration, Statistics, Sustainability, or related fields.
- Proven experience in Theory of Change (ToC) methodology and Impact Evaluation frameworks.
- Solid expertise in Just Transition, low-carbon economies, climate change, or socio-environmental protection.
- Advanced proficiency in English, enabling the consultation of international frameworks and global benchmarking.
- Advanced skills in data synthesis and the ability to translate complex information into clear, executive-level visual presentations.
- Familiarity with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and international impact frameworks.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with experts and facilitating interdisciplinary teamwork.
- A Master’s or PhD in a relevant field is highly desirable.
- Location: Must reside in or near São Paulo to attend occasional in-person workshops, despite the predominantly remote nature of the project.
