As a pivotal member of our mission-driven team, you will represent a company dedicated to the bold vision of boosting district performance and student success through transformative technology. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of innovation and impact, empowering educators across various roles with the tools they need to manage information and resources efficiently while amplifying their positive influence on student lives. We believe that by providing intuitive and connected solutions, we can simplify the complex challenges facing modern schools and drive the future of education globally.

In this remote-based position, you will act as a consultant to educational leaders, operating both virtually and face-to-face to cultivate lasting partnerships. You will be the face of Follett Software, engaging with high-level stakeholders to demonstrate how our technology can streamline administrative processes and improve learning outcomes. We are looking for a professional who is inspired by educators and possesses the drive to deliver seamless, intuitive experiences that address the evolving needs of school districts. If you are a results-oriented sales professional with a passion for educational equity and technological advancement, we invite you to join us in our mission to change the world through empowered education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within assigned territories (CT, DC, MA, MD, NC, and VA) to expand Follett’s market presence and achieve revenue targets.
  • Establish and maintain deep, consultative relationships with key decision-makers, including District and State Superintendents, Chief Technology Officers, Library Directors, and Directors of Curriculum and Instruction.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to understand the specific challenges of school districts and propose tailored software solutions that drive efficiency and student success.
  • Deliver compelling, professional presentations and product demonstrations both in-person and through virtual platforms to various district stakeholders and administrative staff.
  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle, from lead generation and initial outreach to contract negotiation and closing, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the process.
  • Collaborate closely with internal product, marketing, and implementation teams to ensure that customer feedback is integrated into our solution development roadmap.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline progress, and territory forecasts within the CRM system.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, state-level educational mandates, and competitive landscapes to position Follett Software as a thought leader in the EdTech space.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record of success in outside sales, preferably within the K-12 educational technology (EdTech) or SaaS sectors.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and influence executive-level leadership and diverse district administrative teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined to manage a remote territory effectively, with the ability to travel across assigned states as required for face-to-face meetings.
  • Strategic thinker with a consultative approach to problem-solving and a genuine commitment to improving educational outcomes.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software (such as Salesforce) and virtual meeting tools to manage sales pipelines and conduct remote business.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Marketing, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of the procurement processes and funding cycles within the North American public school system.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary with a high-upside commission structure and performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans starting from your first month of employment.
  • Flexible remote work environment that supports a healthy work-life balance while serving a dedicated territory.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and company-observed holidays to ensure you remain energized and inspired.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan with a competitive company matching contribution.
  • Ongoing professional development and career advancement opportunities within a globally recognized leader in educational software.
  • The opportunity to work for a mission-driven organization where your daily efforts directly contribute to the success of students and educators nationwide.
