Key qualifications and responsibilities include:

• Performing accurate code assignments for facility outpatient, same-day surgery, and observation records.
• Assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to various facility outpatient records.
• Coding complex facility surgery records including heart valves, TVRS, spinal, ortho joint replacements, gastric bypass, and transplants.
• Coding injections and infusions in the observation setting.
• Maintaining AHIMA or AAPC certification.
• Technical competency with remote connectivity, including VPNs and multi-factor authentication.
