Key Responsibilities- Lead the architectural design and implementation of major frontend initiatives, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and performant.
- Act as a primary stakeholder in the frontend codebase, establishing best practices and coding standards that elevate the entire engineering organization.
- Partner closely with product managers and designers to translate ambitious product visions into technical realities that delight our users.
- Mentor and guide senior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous professional growth.
- Drive significant performance optimizations across the web platform to ensure a buttery-smooth experience even within complex, data-heavy documents.
- Navigate and resolve intricate technical debt, balancing the need for rapid feature delivery with the long-term health of the ecosystem.
- Champion accessibility and internationalization, ensuring Notion remains inclusive and localized for a diverse global audience.
- A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in frontend engineering, specifically building and maintaining large-scale web applications.
- Extensive mastery of modern JavaScript, with a deep and specialized expertise in React and TypeScript.
- A proven track record of leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives from conception to successful deployment.
- Strong understanding of browser internals, web performance profiling, and sophisticated state management patterns.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a distributed, remote-first environment, demonstrating high levels of autonomy and self-motivation.
