About the Role
Mobena is seeking a visionary Frontend Engineer to serve as our first dedicated UI specialist and lead the evolution of multi-generational tax and estate planning software. As a key early hire in our remote-first, New York-based startup, you will have the rare opportunity to truly own the entire frontend layer of our flagship product, Mobena Evolution. You will work closely with our backend-focused CTO and our designer-founder to translate sophisticated Figma concepts into high-performance, maintainable, and scalable user interfaces that serve the advisors of Americas most prominent families. This is a role for a builder who thrives on autonomy and wants to leave a permanent mark on a zero-to-one product.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be the primary architect of our user experience, making fundamental technical decisions that will shape the company's trajectory for years to come. Your mission is to transform a blank canvas into a world-class interface, starting with the selection of the core frameworks and tools that best meet our product goals. Whether you prefer established web stacks like React or Svelte, or innovative cross-platform solutions like Tauri or Electron, we value your expertise in choosing the right tool for the job. You will build our UI from the ground up, establishing robust patterns for component architecture, state management, and performance optimization.
- Evaluate and justify the frontend tech stack, moving beyond our initial Vite JS prototypes to build a production-ready ecosystem.
- Establish clear, maintainable patterns for components, styling, testing, and accessibility to ensure long-term code health.
- Collaborate directly with the founder to refine and re-frame screen designs in Figma, ensuring they are technically feasible and user-friendly.
- Integrate the frontend with our standard HTTP APIs, utilizing REST, GraphQL, or other modern communication protocols.
- Lay the strategic groundwork for future mobile clients, ensuring the architecture can eventually support a multi-platform presence.
