ML Engineer

About the Role

Trunk Tools is the leading AI company revolutionizing construction by embedding intelligent automation directly into field operations. We are seeking a highly experienced ML Engineer to own and evolve core parts of our AI platform, spanning search, retrieval, and multi-agent orchestration.

• Lead the design and build-out of a multi-agent system, including defining new agent pillars and production collaboration.
• Architect and scale Kubernetes-based document processing pipelines for ingestion, parsing, chunking, and indexing across heterogeneous document types.
• Design and iterate on search and retrieval systems (ranking, query understanding) grounded in user behavior.
• Build and expand knowledge graphs to model entities and relationships for downstream reasoning.
• Drive high-impact projects end-to-end, from experimentation to productionization, while maintaining high engineering quality.

• 7+ years of experience building and shipping production ML/AI systems.
• Strong track record with agentic systems, LLM-based applications, or orchestration frameworks.
• Deep experience in document processing pipelines and distributed systems (Kubernetes).
• Expertise in knowledge graphs, search/ranking systems, NLP, or large-scale data/ML infrastructure.
• Strong coding skills in Python, Go, or similar languages with an emphasis on production systems.
