About the Role
Angel City VA Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our growing remote team. In this pivotal role, you will act as a primary documentation assistant to healthcare providers, ensuring that patient encounters are recorded with the highest degree of accuracy and efficiency. By managing the administrative and clerical burdens of clinical documentation, you will allow medical professionals to focus more deeply on patient care and clinical decision-making. This is a 100% remote, full-time opportunity designed for professionals who excel in fast-paced environments and possess a strong foundational knowledge of medical terminology.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately document patient visits and clinical encounters in real-time within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Transcribe medical histories, physical exam findings, assessments, and detailed treatment plans as dictated by the physician.
- Organize and manage laboratory results, diagnostic imaging reports, and previous medical records to ensure the provider has a comprehensive view of patient health.
- Assist in the preparation of referral letters, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions under the direct supervision of medical staff.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding the privacy and security of patient information.
- Proofread all clinical documentation for spelling, grammar, and medical accuracy before final physician sign-off.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure a seamless workflow and timely completion of all charts by the end of each shift.
- Proven experience as a Medical Scribe, Medical Assistant, or in a similar clinical documentation role.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional typing speed (minimum 50-60 WPM) with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
- Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal, with the ability to synthesize complex clinical information.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated, quiet home office environment suitable for handling sensitive information.
- A degree in Healthcare Administration, Pre-Med, Nursing, or a related biological science field is highly preferred.
