About the Role
United Infrastructure Ltd is a dynamic and rapidly expanding industry leader dedicated to delivering critical infrastructure projects across the utility and social sectors. We are currently seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Mason to join our Social Infrastructure team. In this role, you will play a vital part in our mission to revitalise homes and communities, working on a diverse range of projects from heritage refurbishments to modern retrofitting and essential maintenance. As a specialist within our team, you will contribute to innovative solutions that address the complex structural challenges our clients face, ensuring that the UK’s social infrastructure remains robust and sustainable for future generations.
Key Responsibilities- Execute high-quality masonry work including bricklaying, stone setting, and tuck-pointing to ensure the structural integrity of residential and community buildings.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to accurately plan and implement construction and repair tasks.
- Work closely with the Social Infrastructure team to carry out comprehensive refurbishment and retrofit projects aimed at modernising community spaces.
- Perform routine maintenance and complex repairs on existing structures, identifying potential hazards and implementing durable solutions.
- Mix mortar, grout, and plaster according to precise standards to ensure aesthetic consistency and structural longevity.
- Operate various hand tools and power equipment safely, maintaining all machinery in good working order.
- Adhere strictly to UK health and safety regulations and site-specific safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment for the team and the public.
- Collaborate with site managers and other tradespeople to ensure project deadlines are met without compromising on quality or craftsmanship.
- Proven experience as a professional Mason, specifically within the construction or social infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrable expertise in various masonry techniques, including working with brick, block, and natural stone.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, tools, and processes involved in building maintenance and refurbishment.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and technical documentation with high precision.
- Valid CSCS card and relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Trowel Occupations or equivalent trade qualification.
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
