About the Role
SFMC Home Lending is seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Loan Processor to join our dynamic remote team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the central point of contact for the loan lifecycle, ensuring that every application is processed with the highest degree of accuracy, speed, and professionalism to provide a seamless experience for our borrowers.
As a Loan Processor, you will be responsible for the comprehensive auditing and verification of loan applications, navigating complex regulatory landscapes across FHA, VA, Conventional, Jumbo, and USDA programs. Your expertise will be vital in identifying potential issues early, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and maintaining rigorous compliance standards to move files efficiently from submission to funding. Key Responsibilities- Perform detailed audits of initial loan applications using the Loan Officer Checklist to ensure completeness and identify missing documentation.
- Review and verify all documentation to ensure loan transactions strictly adhere to FHA, VA, Conventional, Jumbo, and USDA guidelines.
- Proactively order and review all third-party vendor documents, including credit updates, employment verifications, flood certifications, appraisals, title work, and payoff statements.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive loan files to the Underwriting department for formal approval.
- Actively manage and clear all underwriting conditions by sourcing additional documentation and resolving outstanding requirements.
- Maintain consistent and professional correspondence with all transaction parties, including Realtors, Builders, Title Agents, and Borrowers.
- Ensure the Loan Origination System (LOS) is updated daily with accurate status updates and correct investor information.
- Coordinate with the closing department to draw final documents and collaborate with title companies to approve final Closing Disclosures.
- Manage a pipeline of up to 20 units per month, maintaining a consistent focus on funding a minimum of 15 units.
- High School diploma or equivalent; advanced education preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of recent experience in mortgage processing, specifically with FHA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC products.
- In-depth knowledge of various investor programs, automated underwriting systems (AUS), and general industry processing guidelines.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern mortgage industry software and automation tools.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and creative thinking to find alternative programs or solutions for unique borrower situations.
- Strong research capabilities with the ability to identify complex issues and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a commitment to providing high-touch service to both internal and external customers.
