Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of fire department facilities, including stations, training grounds, and administrative offices to ensure a professional and sanitary environment.
- Assist in the upkeep of departmental grounds, which may include landscaping, debris removal, and ensuring all outdoor areas are clear and safe for emergency vehicle access.
- Support the logistics team in moving, organizing, and inventorying supplies, equipment, and personal protective gear.
- Operate basic hand tools and power equipment safely to complete minor repairs and general maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assist with the washing and basic cleaning of departmental vehicles and apparatus to maintain a state of constant readiness and professional appearance.
- Follow all safety protocols and departmental regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Participate in event setup and breakdown for community outreach programs or departmental training exercises.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Previous experience in manual labor, maintenance, or a similar physically demanding role is preferred but not required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and perform tasks that involve bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and work effectively as part of a diverse team.
- A strong work ethic and a commitment to punctuality and reliability in a professional setting.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to operate department support vehicles if required.
