Key Responsibilities

As a Kitchen Steward, your primary focus is the seamless operation of the heart of the house. You will be responsible for the following essential functions:

• Consistently offer professional, engaging, and proactive service while supporting colleagues across all culinary departments to maintain a harmonious workflow.
• Maintain the pristine condition and cleanliness of all china, glassware, silverware, pots, and cooking utensils, ensuring they are ready for immediate service.
• Operate industrial dishwashing machines and sanitation equipment in strict accordance with established procedures and safety standards, including the proper loading and unloading of items.
• Ensure all kitchen floors remain dry, clean, and safe at all times to prevent accidents and maintain a professional work environment.
• Carefully manage inventory by sorting, stacking, and storing all kitchenware in designated areas, and immediately recording any breakages or chipped items to ensure they are removed from circulation.
• Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, aprons, and eyewear correctly, and ensure the precise measurement and application of detergents and sanitizers.
• Execute efficient garbage removal and waste management practices according to resort policies and environmental standards.
• Adhere strictly to all Health and Safety guidelines, including specific protocols established by Accor, local government, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the CDC to ensure a safe environment for colleagues and guests.
• Perform additional duties and assignments as required by the Executive Chief Steward or Duty Chef to support the overall success of the culinary team.

Qualifications

We are seeking motivated individuals who take pride in their work and possess the following attributes:

• Basic knowledge of sanitary guidelines is considered a significant asset, though we provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.
• Previous experience in a similar stewarding or kitchen utility role is preferred, especially within a high-volume or luxury hospitality environment.
• Proven interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to remain calm and courteous under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
• An excellent record of attendance and a strong work ethic are essential for success in this role.
• The ability to work cohesively as part of a diverse, international team, focusing on collective goals and guest needs.
• Physical capability to handle the demands of the role, including constant standing and walking, frequent lifting of up to 30 lbs, and the ability to navigate stairs and ramps as needed.
