About the Role
WealthCounsel is looking for a driven Junior Product Designer to join our award-winning team and help build the next generation of legal drafting software. As a foundational member of our design organization, you will work within a Discovery Trio alongside Product Managers and Engineers to transform complex legal workflows into seamless, accessible, and intuitive digital experiences.
This role is designed for a curious problem-solver who is eager to go beyond visual artifacts and dive deep into the 'why' behind product decisions. You will foster user empathy, master the art of design thinking, and contribute to a platform recently recognized as the 2025 Best Place to Work in the Cloud. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Junior Product Designer, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of product development, ensuring our members have the tools they need to succeed.
- Apply structured problem-framing to articulate the core challenges a design aims to solve.
- Participate in discovery sessions to provide a user-centered perspective during early-stage product planning.
- Create comprehensive wireframes, interactive prototypes, and design documentation to support technical implementation.
- Design detailed interaction flows and layouts that account for all states, including happy paths, errors, and edge cases.
- Maintain and contribute to the evolution of our design system to ensure consistency across the product suite.
- Shadow user research activities, including usability tests and interviews, to build deep empathy for the legal professionals we serve.
- Collaborate closely with engineering to understand technical constraints and ensure design feasibility.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback from design reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional critiques.
We are looking for a foundational designer who possesses a strong commitment to quality and a desire to learn the business of product design.
- 0–3 years of experience in Product Design, UX Design, or a related digital design role.
- A professional portfolio that demonstrates user-centered thinking, interaction design craft, and practical problem-solving.
- High proficiency in Figma or equivalent modern design and prototyping software.
- A strong understanding of design systems and component-based workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain the rationale behind design decisions.
- Familiarity with UX research methods and a willingness to engage directly with users.
- A proactive mindset with an interest in how products function technically and commercially.
- Knowledge of accessibility best practices (WCAG) and familiarity with HTML/CSS is highly preferred.
