About the Role

Interop Labs is seeking a talented and proactive DevOps Engineer to join our high-performing team and serve as a cornerstone for the reliability and scalability of the Axelar Network. As we build the future of Web3 interoperability, our infrastructure demands a sophisticated approach to automation, security, and performance. In this role, you will work at the intersection of cloud-native engineering and decentralized technology, ensuring that our cross-chain protocols remain robust and accessible to billions of users. This is a hands-on position designed for an engineer who thrives in a distributed environment and is passionate about solving complex operational challenges in the rapidly evolving blockchain landscape.

Key Responsibilities

As a DevOps Engineer at Interop Labs, you will be responsible for the health and performance of our global infrastructure. Your primary objectives will include:

  • Designing, maintaining, and optimizing sophisticated CI/CD pipelines to facilitate fast and secure deployments across multiple blockchain environments.
  • Automating all aspects of infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Industry-standard tools like Terraform, Bash, and Python to ensure a fully reproducible stack.
  • Enhancing our observability and monitoring framework using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and the ELK stack to provide deep insights into system performance and uptime.
  • Managing and scaling containerized workloads across Kubernetes and major cloud providers, specifically AWS, to support the growing demands of the Axelar ecosystem.
  • Conducting deep-dive troubleshooting across the entire stack, identifying technical bottlenecks, and implementing permanent architectural solutions.
  • Collaborating closely with software engineering teams to streamline internal development workflows and ensure seamless transitions from staging to production.
  • Contributing to strategic initiatives focused on infrastructure security, disaster recovery, and cost-optimization.
  • Remaining at the forefront of the DevOps and Web3 industries, evaluating and integrating emerging technologies that can improve our operational efficiency.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess a blend of traditional SRE expertise and a keen interest in decentralized protocols. To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or core infrastructure management.
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing production-grade Kubernetes clusters and Docker environments at scale.
  • Deep proficiency with at least one major cloud platform, with a strong preference for Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation.
  • Direct experience with modern CI/CD ecosystems, including GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or Jenkins.
  • A solid understanding of observability principles and practical experience configuring alerting and dashboards in Prometheus and Grafana.
  • A foundational understanding of, or a strong desire to learn, blockchain infrastructure, decentralized finance (DeFi), and cross-chain communication protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a fully remote, globally distributed team.

Benefits

Joining Interop Labs means becoming part of a mission-driven team dedicated to building the infrastructure of the internet's next generation. Our benefits package is designed to support your professional growth and personal well-being:

  • An autonomous and flexible remote-first work environment that prioritizes output over hours.
  • The opportunity to contribute to high-impact work on the Axelar Network, a protocol backed by top-tier investors like Polychain, Coinbase, and Dragonfly.
  • Competitive base compensation paired with lucrative stock options, allowing you to share in the long-term success of the company.
  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO) policy to ensure you have the time needed to rest and recharge.
  • A culture of continuous learning where you will be encouraged to explore new technologies and take on diverse technical challenges.
  • An inclusive workplace that values diversity and provides equal opportunities for all employees.
