Your daily activities will include managing the end-to-end onboarding experience for new associates, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into the Ross Stores culture from day one. You will be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of employee data within our Human Resources Information System (HRIS), generating reports that help leadership make informed decisions regarding talent and retention. Additionally, you will play a key role in employee relations by addressing inquiries related to company policies, benefits, and payroll, ensuring that every associate receives timely and accurate information. You will also collaborate with our recruitment team to assist with candidate screening and interview coordination, helping us attract top-tier talent to the organization. Furthermore, you will assist in the administration of performance management cycles, tracking evaluation progress and providing necessary documentation for career development initiatives. Compliance is a major focus of this role; you will work closely with legal departments to ensure all HR practices remain in alignment with federal, state, and local labor regulations, minimizing risk while advocating for fair treatment across the board.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role, candidates should possess a strong foundational knowledge of human resources principles and a desire to grow within the field. We require a Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Candidates should have at least 2 to 4 years of experience working in an HR administrative or generalist capacity, preferably within a large-scale corporate or retail environment. Proficiency with HRIS platforms such as Workday or PeopleSoft is essential, as is a high level of comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will be interacting with associates at all levels of the organization and must be able to convey complex information clearly and professionally. We value individuals who demonstrate strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, and a high degree of discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information. Professional certifications such as the PHR or SHRM-CP are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage during the selection process.
