As an HPC Engineer at Rescale, you will become a platform expert, bridging the gap between complex engineering software and cloud infrastructure. You will work at the intersection of high-performance computing and enterprise PaaS, ensuring our most demanding customers can execute their simulations and research with maximum efficiency and reliability. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives on technical problem-solving and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive customer success.
Key Responsibilities- Become a subject matter expert in the Rescale platform, optimizing its application for diverse customer workflows and digital engineering demands.
- Publish, manage, and optimize complex HPC software portfolios to ensure peak performance for enterprise-level clients.
- Design and implement automated processes and best practices for HPC services, focusing on increasing engineering velocity and quality.
- Collaborate with sales, product, and engineering teams to advocate for customer needs and contribute to the long-term product roadmap.
- Provide deep technical support to customers, independent software vendors (ISVs), and strategic partners to resolve environment-specific challenges.
- Benchmark and optimize software performance across various cloud architectures, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Develop internal tools and automation scripts to streamline service delivery and improve overall team productivity.
- Maintain high-quality documentation and contribute to a knowledge base that empowers customers to realize the full value of the Rescale ecosystem.
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working with HPC systems and high-performance computing applications.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating system environments.
- Practical experience with scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation and task management.
- Demonstrated interest in cloud computing platforms including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Familiarity with HPC schedulers, MPI, containerization, Kubernetes, and GPU computing.
- Introductory exposure to scientific computing libraries and tools like OpenMP and CUDA.
- Experience applying AI-assisted workflows, such as code generation and automation agents, to improve software development lifecycles.
- Basic understanding of at least one CAE discipline, such as CFD, FEA, EDA, Molecular Dynamics, or Weather Forecasting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
