Quality Inn & Suites Downtown Charlottetown is currently seeking a meticulous and energetic Housekeeper to join our award-winning hospitality team. Key ResponsibilitiesAs a core member of our environmental services team, you will be responsible for the complete upkeep of guest rooms and public spaces. Your daily tasks will include meticulously stripping and making beds with fresh linens, ensuring every fold meets our brand standards. You will be tasked with vacuuming carpets, mopping hard surfaces, and dusting all furniture, fixtures, and electronics to ensure a dust-free environment for our guests. Beyond surface cleaning, you will perform deep-cleaning tasks such as scrubbing bathrooms, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, and replenishing essential guest amenities like soaps, shampoos, and towels.
In addition to physical cleaning, you will act as a secondary set of eyes for our maintenance department. You will be expected to report any damages, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards immediately through our digital reporting platform. Managing your time effectively is crucial, as you will work under pressure and tight deadlines to ensure rooms are ready for check-in during peak hours. You must be comfortable handling heavy loads and performing repetitive tasks that require bending, crouching, and kneeling. Your role also involves maintaining a professional demeanor when interacting with guests in hallways or common areas, providing a friendly and welcoming presence that aligns with the hospitality industry's highest standards.
QualificationsWhile previous experience in a hospitality or commercial cleaning setting is considered a significant asset, we are primarily looking for individuals with the right attitude and a strong work ethic. You must be proficient in English to ensure clear communication with both team members and guests. Since our property maintains a high standard of trust and security, all candidates must be bondable and willing to undergo a comprehensive criminal record check. Professional references will also be required to verify your reliability and past performance in similar fast-paced environments.
Physically, this role is demanding and requires a high level of stamina. You must be prepared for a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout your shift, with extended periods of standing and walking being the norm. The ability to work under pressure while maintaining extreme attention to detail is non-negotiable.
