We are currently seeking detail-oriented Freelance Transcriptionists fluent in Sinhalese to join our global network of contributors and play a vital role in refining the next generation of artificial intelligence models.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will be responsible for converting high-quality, channel-separated audio recordings into precise written text. You will work with 2-speaker audio files where each speaker is assigned to a specific channel, ensuring that the final transcript is clean, sequentially ordered, and perfectly synchronized.
- Listen to 2-speaker audio recordings in Sinhalese and transcribe the dialogue with 100% accuracy.
- Identify and label each speaker turn as Speaker 1 or Speaker 2, ensuring labels strictly correspond to the correct audio channel.
- Insert accurate timestamps at the beginning of every speaker turn using the required HH:MM:SS format.
- Maintain a strict Word Error Rate (WER) of 5% or less, adhering to Perle’s rigorous quality standards.
- Ensure the final transcript follows a logical, sequential flow with no unexplained gaps in the dialogue.
- Manage your own schedule to meet daily output targets while maintaining high levels of concentration and linguistic precision.
We are looking for individuals who possess a deep understanding of the Sinhalese language and have a keen eye for detail. While prior transcription experience is beneficial, we welcome any candidate who can demonstrate superior linguistic skills through our qualification process.
- Native or near-native fluency in Sinhalese, including mastery of contemporary spoken and written forms.
- Exceptional command of Sinhalese spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Proficiency in English for navigating the Perle platform and following project guidelines.
- Reliable access to a personal computer and a stable, high-speed internet connection.
- The ability to commit to at least 4 hours of work per day to ensure consistent project momentum.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
