About the Role
PriceSmart is seeking a proactive and skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to join our operations team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, safety, and operational efficiency of our warehouse environment. You will serve as the primary point of contact for technical troubleshooting and routine upkeep, ensuring that our equipment and fixtures meet the highest standards of performance to support our daily business objectives.
As a key member of the maintenance department, you will balance technical hands-on tasks with strategic preventive scheduling. Whether you are performing complex mechanical repairs or managing facility-wide safety protocols, your work will directly impact the member experience and the overall safety of our staff. Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance schedules for all warehouse equipment, fixtures, and structural components to minimize downtime.
- Perform timely repairs on building structures, specialized machinery, and club fixtures to ensure a seamless operational flow.
- Manage both minor and major technical upkeep for defective equipment, including the coordination of weekly fogging and sanitation protocols.
- Monitor and maintain the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) operations to ensure environmental compliance and functional efficiency.
- Strictly adhere to national and company safety and security regulations by utilizing mandatory safety equipment and following established protocols.
- Collaborate on special club projects, including the installation of marketing collateral, banners, and store accessories.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness across the warehouse floor and oversee the systematic removal of trash during and after operational hours.
- Secure and inventory all maintenance assets, including tools, high-value spare parts, and equipment to prevent loss or damage.
- Prioritize and respond to multiple maintenance requests simultaneously while maintaining a professional customer-service orientation toward internal stakeholders.
- Possession of five CSEC subjects, including mandatory credits in English Language and Mathematics.
- A Diploma or Trade Certificate in a relevant technical field such as Electrical Installation, Mechanical Maintenance, HVAC, Building Services, or Plumbing.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in facility maintenance, preferably within a commercial warehouse, manufacturing, or large-scale retail environment.
- Possession of a valid General Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Forklift Certification is highly desirable and considered a significant asset.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues with a high degree of precision.
