About the Role

Honeywell is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Estimator II to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. As a critical member of our global operations, you will be responsible for providing the precise financial and technical assessments that drive our most ambitious projects in automation, aviation, and energy transition. This role is designed for a professional who understands the intersection of engineering excellence and financial viability, helping us deliver actionable solutions that make the world smarter, safer, and more sustainable. You will work within our diverse business segments, leveraging the power of Honeywell Forge software to create competitive and accurate estimates that propel our mission forward.

Key Responsibilities

As an Estimator II, your primary focus will be the development of comprehensive cost estimates for complex industrial and building automation projects. You will be expected to analyze blueprints, technical specifications, and project requirements to determine the total cost of labor, materials, and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that our bids are both competitive in the marketplace and profitable for the organization.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of project documentation, including architectural drawings, electrical schematics, and mechanical specifications, to identify all cost drivers.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, sales, and project management teams to define the scope of work and ensure all technical requirements are captured in the estimate.
  • Utilize advanced estimation software and internal Honeywell tools to generate detailed bills of materials (BOMs) and labor requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential project risks by performing sensitivity analyses and contingency planning during the bidding phase.
  • Communicate with external vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes for specialized components or services, ensuring all procurement aligns with Honeywells quality standards.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports and proposal summaries to senior leadership and stakeholders for approval.
  • Maintain and update internal databases for material costs, labor rates, and historical project data to improve the accuracy of future estimations.
  • Support the transition of successful bids to the project execution team, providing necessary documentation and clarification to ensure a seamless kickoff.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position possesses a unique blend of technical expertise and financial acumen. We are looking for an individual who is self-motivated and capable of managing multiple high-priority estimates simultaneously while working in a remote environment.

  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in project estimation, preferably within the building automation, HVAC, or industrial energy sectors.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry-standard estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel functions.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, as well as familiarization with local building codes and industry regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data and transform it into clear, concise financial reports.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proven track record of meeting strict deadlines and delivering accurate results in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Familiarity with Honeywell Forge or similar enterprise-level software solutions is considered a significant advantage.

Benefits

Honeywell is committed to providing a comprehensive benefits package that supports the physical, financial, and emotional well-being of our employees. As a remote Estimator II, you will enjoy a culture that values work-life balance and continuous professional development.

  • Competitive base salary and performance-based incentive programs.
  • Comprehensive health insurance, including medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one.
  • Generous 401(k) plan with company matching contributions to help you secure your financial future.
  • Flexible work arrangements and a dedicated focus on maintaining a healthy work-life integration.
  • Access to global learning and development platforms to enhance your skills and advance your career within the organization.
