Engineering Manager Data Platform

About the Role

TrueML is a mission-driven financial software company seeking an Engineering Manager for their Data Platform. You will be the primary architect of the ecosystem that bridges the gap between raw infrastructure and actionable insights, leading a team through a phase of purposeful scaling.

What You'll Do:

• Lead, manage, and mentor a group of data engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Architect resilient infrastructure and own the design of data pipelines prepared for company-wide expansion.
• Implement system controls and SLAs to advocate for data quality and flawless production processes.
• Partner cross-functionally with Data Science and Product teams to translate business needs into efficient data models.
• Perform code reviews and provide guidance to optimize ETL pipelines and schema performance.
• Maintain a balance between leadership and hands-on technical contribution.

Who You Are:

• Experienced leader with 2+ years of management and 5+ years of data engineering expertise.
• Expert in modern technologies such as Snowflake, Airflow, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Highly proficient in Python or Java with expert-level SQL skills for scaling schemas.
• Systems thinker with extensive experience designing data warehouses and workflow systems.
• Strong communicator capable of translating technical hurdles into actionable business updates.

Bonus Skills:

• Experience with Spark, Scala, or Protocol Buffers.
• Familiarity with regulatory challenges in the FinTech industry.
