About the Role
Urban Movers is a premier logistics and relocation service provider dedicated to delivering excellence across the Melbourne metropolitan area. We are currently expanding our professional field team and are seeking motivated individuals to join us as Multi-Skilled Drivers and Truck Jockeys. This role is designed for proactive professionals who take pride in their work, whether they are navigating Melbourne’s streets in a 3-tonne truck or ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation for our clients’ properties and equipment.
As a key member of our frontline team, you will be the face of Urban Movers. We offer a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same. We are looking for candidates who are either experienced heavy-vehicle operators or those with a strong foundational driving record who are eager to undergo professional training to upgrade their skills. Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient transport of goods while maintaining the professional integrity of our fleet and service standards.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate and maneuver 3-tonne trucks throughout the Melbourne metropolitan area, adhering to all local traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with the dispatch team to ensure timely arrivals for residential and commercial relocations.
- Perform comprehensive vehicle pre-check inspections to ensure roadworthiness and report any maintenance requirements immediately.
- Act as a Lead Jockey when required, assisting with the manual loading and unloading of furniture, equipment, and sensitive goods.
- Execute professional cleaning duties for client sites and internal fleet vehicles to maintain the premium brand image of Urban Movers.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients on-site and resolving any logistical challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Maintain accurate digital logs of deliveries, fuel consumption, and service reports using our internal mobile application.
- A valid Australian Driver’s License with a clean driving record; a Medium Rigid (MR) license is highly regarded but not mandatory for those willing to train.
- Proven experience as a Truck Jockey or Off-sider within the removalist or logistics industry.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting and securing heavy items.
- Previous experience in professional cleaning or facility maintenance is a significant advantage.
- Excellent spatial awareness and the ability to navigate urban environments and tight loading docks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, punctual, and reliable work ethic.
- Must have full working rights within Australia and be willing to undergo a police background check.
