About the Role

Amentum is currently seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Diver to join our elite team at the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) located on Andros Island in the Bahamas. This is a unique opportunity to provide mission-critical support to the United States Navy by performing essential underwater recovery, inspection, and maintenance operations in a high-stakes maritime environment. As a key member of the diving team, you will be responsible for executing no-decompression dives and maintaining complex life-support systems while living and working in a remote, tropical professional setting.

• Execute strictly limited No Decompression dives at depths not exceeding 100 feet of seawater using open-circuit SCUBA equipment.
• Perform critical underwater tasks including the inspection, repair, installation, and removal of devices from US Navy marine vessels and underwater structures.
• Oversee the operation and maintenance of diving air systems in strict compliance with OSHA Diving Air Standards.
• Manage the upkeep and repair of all personal and team diving equipment, including tanks, regulators, masks, and fins.
• Support surface operations by operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and tractor-trailers in accordance with OSHA, NAVFAC, and NAVSEA standards.
• Utilize underwater camera and video equipment to document vessel conditions and mission progress.
• Maintain and operate dive boats and associated support craft to ensure mission readiness.
• Execute ordnance and target handling procedures, including the safe transport and recovery of maritime assets.
• Collaborate with mission stakeholders to ensure all safety protocols are met during complex underwater rigging and recovery tasks.

• Minimum of four years of professional experience in military diving, OSHA-regulated commercial air diving, or a related professional maritime environment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Certification from the Association of Commercial Diving Educators (ACDE) or an equivalent Military Diving Certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Security Clearance (US Citizenship is required).
• Must be able to qualify as a NAVFAC forklift/overhead crane operator and Tractor Trailer operator within six months of hire.
• Must be able to achieve qualification as an Ordnance Team Member within six months of hire.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a current passport.
• Willingness and ability to reside in a remote island location with limited medical facilities.
• Preferred experience in ship husbandry, transducer replacement, and underwater lift bag operations.
• Preferred technical qualification in Aqualung first and second-stage maintenance and repair.
