About the Role
Triple Whale is the AI operating system built for modern ecommerce, empowering over 60,000 brands like Pressed Juicery and OUAI to transform complex data into profitable action. We are looking for a visionary Director of Technical Solutions to lead our professional services arm within the Customer Experience department. In this senior technical leadership role, you will oversee four critical disciplines: Solutions Architecture, Marketing Science, SQL Engineering, and Context Engineering. You will be the driving force behind our technical credibility, ensuring that Triple Whale remains the most defensible and irreplaceable partner for enterprise buyers by delivering depth and sophistication that cannot be found anywhere else.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs the Director of Technical Solutions, you will operate this department as a high-performance service business, focusing on utilization, customer outcomes, and strategic growth.
- Lead, mentor, and scale a world-class team of technical specialists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous innovation.
- Oversee the strategic execution of Solutions Architecture, Marketing Science, SQL Engineering, and Context Engineering to ensure seamless customer integration and data integrity.
- Drive retention and expansion by serving as a technical force multiplier, translating complex product capabilities into tangible business value for high-value accounts.
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) including service attach rates, team utilization, and long-term customer success metrics.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Product teams to align professional services with the enterprise buyer journey, ensuring our technical offerings remain a competitive moat against DIY data warehouses.
- Coach senior individual contributors and managers to develop their technical expertise and leadership capabilities within the commerce ecosystem.
The ideal candidate possesses a rare blend of technical depth and business acumen, with a proven track record of leading technical service organizations in the SaaS or Ecommerce space.
- Extensive experience in technical leadership roles, specifically managing multi-disciplinary teams such as Solutions Architecture or Data Engineering.
- Deep understanding of the modern ecommerce tech stack, including marketing attribution, data warehousing, and AI/LLM applications.
- Proven ability to run a professional services organization as a P&L-focused business unit with a clear eye on growth and retention.
- Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and marketing science principles, with the ability to provide high-level guidance on complex technical builds.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with C-suite stakeholders at enterprise-level brands.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate customer needs with long-term product and departmental goals.
